HOW TO GET BACK ON TRACK AFTER A LONG WEEKEND

HOW TO GET BACK ON TRACK AFTER A LONG WEEKEND

Posted by Lynda on 23rd Sep 2018

The long weekend is coming to an end and we are getting ready to get back into the working week, BUT if you have had a big weekend of drinking, indulging in all the delicious food and generally having a great time, we have some quick and easy tips to have you feel refreshed in no time!

1. Water, water, water

We often consume a few extra coffees, glasses of wine and saltier foods on a long weekend. This can lead to us becoming dehydrated, sapping energy levels, reducing metabolism and even bloating So our first tip is increase your water intake STAT! We like to mix it up with fruit infusion waters and herbals teas to keep things interesting

2. Green Vegetables

Greens are often forgotten about when we indulge in our fave meals over the weekend. But they are so important to get all the vitamins and minerals we need to have us feeling great! They also contain Iron which is great for boosting energy levels. Our tip is to add them to every meal ( even breakfast) and top up on green juices for liquid greens. Our faves are #1 and #1

3. Limit Alcohol Intake

Why not try giving up the Alcohol for 7 days. It’s a great way to get back on track and feeling better! It will also reduce your empty calorie intake, allowing for you to fill up on all the nutrient dense foods. If you do love a night time drink, or have a social function to attend to- you can try Kombucha Mocktail

4. Exercise

If your feeling up to it, a good sweat is great to detoxify the body! Try hot yoga or a fast paced HIIT workout. If your still not quite feeling the workout routine yet, anything is better than nothing. Try a 30 minute walk to get started!
